Sustainability -BONAVENTURA's Initiatives-

Responsibility of BONAVENTURA
Commitment to quality and environmental conservation activities
What we always value is the coexistence of beauty and functionality. We use outstanding skills in all production processes, create a world of creative beauty from the finest European materials, and breathe life into each and every product. As well as creating products, we also value consideration for people and the environment.
As words such as sustainable and SDGs have become widespread, there is now a global demand for environmentally friendly and sustainable manufacturing. With this environmental conservation in mind, BONAVENTURA is promoting continuous improvement activities to further reduce its impact on the environment.

Passion and commitment to leather
Selecting the highest quality leather that is environmentally friendly
Certified leather
All leather used by BONAVENTURA is sourced from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group or Oeko-Tex®. Both certifications have in common that harmful chemicals and prohibited substances are not used, and the standards for the degreasing and tanning processes of leather are rigorously evaluated to protect the environment. Not only the main leather, but also smooth leather and nylon are sourced only from trusted suppliers.
Consideration for the global environment
All leather used by BONAVENTURA is made from 100% livestock by-products. Animal "skin" generated as a livestock by-product generates a large amount of greenhouse gases and requires energy when incinerated, but it can be reborn as a product called "leather" by tanning it at a tannery, and it can be returned to nature 100% after disposal. We use sustainable "natural leather" tanned at tanneries with cutting-edge equipment to the fullest extent possible in a variety of leather items, bags, and other leather products. We are constantly researching and developing materials that are more considerate of the global environment.

Use of recycled materials
Switching to environmentally friendly materials
Shopping bags
Currently, BONAVENTURA is working on a project to switch the material of its shopping bags to FSC® certified materials. FSC® certification is an international forest certification system that promotes responsible forest management to maintain abundant forests in the future, while taking into consideration the animals and plants in the forest, as well as the people who work and live there. Switching to this material will contribute to forest conservation around the world.
Packaging
The red box, which is the symbol of BONAVENTURA, is currently made from 50% recycled paper. We are currently working on a project to change to 100% renewable materials. In addition, our shipping boxes are made from 100% recycled paper, and we have minimized the use of plastic materials in our packaging.

Aftercare
Initiatives and services to help you use your items for longer
At BONAVENTURA, we provide repair consultations and support, as well as care and storage methods for all our products. This is because by allowing you to enjoy using our products for a longer period of time, we can reduce the impact on the environment. In addition to accepting repairs, we also have a full range of leather care (maintenance products) that can be used on our own products, and we provide guidance on how customers can easily care for their products themselves.
We also take customer feedback seriously and are constantly working to improve so that we can always provide better products.

Collaboration with suppliers
Close relationships and responsible choices
BONAVENTURA only employs suppliers that manufacture products through fair trade, fair prices, and fair labor, and that have a high awareness of sustainability. All raw materials used in our factories are certified by BONAVENTURA, and we pay attention to even the smallest details, such as the small metal parts used in each product. Each supplier's efforts vary, but they are involved in a wide range of activities, including consideration for environmental pollution, such as testing for pollutants and reducing CO2 emissions in line with strict European environmental standards, human rights and social status issues, and using solar power to power the factory itself.

Dignity of Identity
Creating a Comfortable Work Environment
Respect for Diversity
BONAVENTURA respects diversity in culture, customs, language, ethnicity, etc., and actively promotes fair recruitment and utilization of human resources regardless of gender, age, disability, etc. We strive to maintain an environment where individuals are respected and mental health can be maintained in good condition. In addition, in order to reflect more diverse values in decision-making, we will continue to support career development, such as enhancing various systems and implementing training programs, regardless of gender.
Work-life balance
We place importance on work-life balance and have created an environment where employees can work comfortably. We have established a support system to increase the rate of taking parental leave regardless of gender, prepared a telecommuting environment to make it easier to balance work with nursing care and childcare, and also place importance on consideration for employee health and the sanitary environment of the workplace. Being able to work in a better environment for a long time reduces the turnover rate and leads to employee happiness.
Communication and Education
At BONAVENTURA, we provide an environment where each employee can learn and support them in improving their skills and careers. In addition to thinking about and acting on knowledge of sustainability and environmental issues, we also provide all employees with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our products and discuss the future of BONAVENTURA, building relationships that allow us to grow together.
